One of the important specialties of dentistry is orthodontists. It corrects the teeth that aren’t in the correct position. People who have malposition teeth should correct their teeth by giving a visit to an orthodontist, since this situation puts pressure on those teeth that are responsible for chewing the food. Although an orthodontic cure is used in order to improve the patient’s health status, it has some beauty aspects. From a specialist’s point of view, the orthodontic cure has aspects in causing function and suitable performance, keeping the oral cavity healthy, and organizing chewing and talking. Unfortunately, most of the insurance companies consider the beauty aspects of orthodontics when it comes to paying the refund for orthodontic costs.

Putting constant pressure on the teeth responsible for chewing the food has different complications that contain tooth decay, headache, digestive issues, gingival issues, pain in shoulders, and neck. Each one of these complications can become immensely troublesome. On top of this, the irregularity of teeth has negative effects on a person’s beauty.

Moreover, modern techniques have led to saving more time and money.

In fact, both of them are important for an orthodontist and a patient. The best age to do orthodontics is from 7 to 12 years old. This is due since, during these years mandibular bones haven’t finished their growth yet and can be easily corrected and flexed. If children or relatives are at the same age, and have irregular teeth, it’s highly likely, the best time for doing orthodontics is now. The time factor allows you to have a beautiful set of teeth in adulthood, by giving a visit to an orthodontist at the right time.

Orthodontics affects the beauty of the face, jaw, and lips positively and significantly. In Orthodontic treatment, the orthodontist should measure the face profile to make sure that the nose, lips, and jaw are balanced since it’s important that the patient keeps his/her mouth closed during eating.

To have a beautiful smile is an effective factor in communicating with others and improving self-confidence, therefore, to have a beautiful smile and organized teeth, we should get help from orthodontic treatment.

Orthodontics can be done with several cosmetic treatments. The orthodontic treatment method is quite different from the cosmetic style. Nowadays, dentistry patient stats, especially in cosmetic treatments, have increased so much, and a lot of people are giving visits to dentists to do implants, laminate, composite, and correct their teeth to have a more beautiful face and smile.

The question of whether orthodontic treatment can be done on the teeth which are crowned, implanted, etc., has drawn public attention to itself. However, to answer this question we can say that the possibility of doing medical and reconstructive methods both.

However, most people have the concern that their teeth crowns may get damaged since there is the chance of damaging the crowns by orthodontic tools. Fortunately, orthodontic treatments that are done by an experienced orthodontist along with reconstructive treatment have finished without any complication.

Three different ways of orthodontic treatment are used on repaid teeth that they contain:

  1. Removable-invisible orthodontics that its tools are placed on the front side of teeth, but the others won’t realize it because it’s colorless.
  2. Fixed orthodontics that the brackets are placed on the teeth permanently.
  3. Lingual orthodontics that the brackets and its tools are placed on the backside of the teeth.

1-Are orthodontic costs different from dental cosmetics? 

Dental cosmetic costs are estimated after the patient’s examination and paid in often one session. Commonly, dental cosmetic costs are not paid by supplementary health insurance. On the other hand, orthodontic costs can be paid during orthodontic treatment. As you know, orthodontic treatment is not single-session and may last one to as long as the Orthodontist says the patient needs it (this oftenly being around 1-2 years)

2-Do supplementary health insurances cover orthodontic costs?

Since, some insurances consider some treatments cosmetic surgery, they may not cover the costs of those treatments. However, you can share this topic with your insurer and be aware of the contents of your assignment. Most of the insurance companies pay all or a part of the costs but some of them don’t pay anything at all. On the other hand, unfortunately, according to the financial conditions, insurance companies change the budgets continuously for dental treatments, especially orthodontics.

3-The orthodontic treatment in priority or dental cosmetic?

First, the patient should see an orthodontist and correct the anomalies about their teeth and jaw. In most cases, the patient’s problem will be solved by orthodontics. It is preferred that the problem be solved by orthodontics since, in cosmetic treatments, shavings are done on the teeth and a part of tooth enamel will be destroyed but, in orthodontic treatment, no shaving is done on the teeth.
