In some people, however, factors such as jaw discrepancies or harmful oral habits disrupt this natural alignment and lead to the following conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tooth rotation<\/strong>, where a tooth has turned around its own axis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overbite<\/strong>, when the upper teeth excessively overlap the lower teeth in a vertical direction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Underbite<\/strong>, often described as a \u201cbulldog\u201d appearance, in which the lower teeth are positioned far ahead of the upper teeth and the upper jaw is set too far back.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Anterior crossbite<\/strong>, where one to three upper teeth are positioned behind the lower teeth when the mouth is closed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Posterior crossbite<\/strong>, in which the back teeth of the upper jaw, including molars and premolars, are positioned inside the lower teeth instead of outside them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overjet<\/strong>, a condition in which the upper front teeth protrude too far forward or the lower teeth do not extend forward enough.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Openbite<\/strong>, which refers to a lack of contact between the upper and lower teeth in the front, back, or sides.
